2. Sandwiches

When Lunchtime rolls around Belgians storm the streets to order their beloved Broodjies. (Probably spelled that wrong) People live on these things. Every festival or show I’ve ever played has always offered me a sandwich.

The focus of a Belgian sandwich is more about the bread. It usually consists of a piece of Gouda Cheese (another post dedicated to this to come) and a slice of ham. Where it gets crazy is with the Mayo salads and spreads that the kids go wild for. It’s bread with an overflowing festival of goopy matter.

The American sandwich is raw beef which is coated in a bright orange mayo. i think I know how they feel about America if this is the tribute to us.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had good sandwiches and terrible ones in Belgium. I just missed the variety of choice when it was time for lunch.

1. BUREAUCRACY

“I’m sorry but it’s not possible, You don’t understand it’s Holiday season.” ” Oh it’s very simple, just drive to the Bureau of Immigration on Konnigstraat 52 and go to the office of Apostile Stampery. There you pay a small fee (50 Euros) and get a stamp on your form. Then what you do is take that form to the Principal of Antwerp, who will verify its authenticity. After this you take the form and signature to the Office of Belgian Relations (Local Branch) and pay a small fee (50 Euros) to get a civics form. After this you take the Apostile Form, the Signature, the civics form, and your Belgian License to the Authorities for approval. Be aware that they are closed except for Tuesday from 2-4pm. Once you schedule an appointment you take these forms and a small fee (50 Euros) and they will issue you a temporary Parking Permit. After 3 months you get the bigger form for the Permanent Parking Pass. See It was very easy. Make sure you save everything because if you lose anything you must start all over.
